New illustrations and upcoming Patreon?!

Well, I’ve managed to finish my first big illustration project of 2019, and I’m feeling pretty good with myself. It’s based on the slick KDA music video that our friends at Riot Games put together for promotion of their new skins package. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do yourself a favor!

As for my work, take a look below!

Also, I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and I’m strongly considering starting a Patreon campaign. I’m starting to work pretty consistently, and I’m sure there are a few who’d like to see me continue. Plus, I' have a lot of projects I’d like to start doing, and such campaign finance would aid towards those goals. I read an article from a much more seasoned illustrator recently on this very topic. It can be read here.

I’ll keep you folks updated! I’m pretty excited by the idea. Godspeed.

Sept 2018 - Baltimore Book Festival!

Man it’s been some time!

Good news is that I was invited to give my “Hit Confirm” presentation on the history of character design for video games. I also made a great number of new prints for this show that I haven’t sold before! This is going to be quite exciting, provided that the weather isn’t as sweltering as it was last year. ^_^ Here’s just one among many new prints I’ll have available!

Anyway, I’ve also been busy taking a course from Paintable.cc in strengthening my illustrations. I believe I’ve made some improvements to my conceptual understandings, and I have some steps here. It’s an update on an illustrations I made a few years ago. Quite refreshing to revisit this.

After a few more modifications, I’ll have another print to show off! Here’s a dump of some other smaller pieces I’ve done. That Spider-Man PS4 game is calling me…

Sketch dump and updates on future pursuits!

Hello!

It's certainly been a while, but I haven't stopped!

In the time I've been away, I've been hammering at my new job as a web developer and doing a lot of daily work.  I think it will behoove me to dump my drawings and such that I've done here on occasion.  I'm told that if you do that enough, you can put together a sketchbook for sale.  Sounds like a plan...

Also, I've enrolled into the Schoolism course for environment design, as that's always been one of my weaker areas.  I just need to set aside time to practice it.  A year can go by before I know it.

I've also enrolled at Paintable.cc for their character design courses, though it may take time for that to become available.  I should take advantage of the other training courses there in the meantime.

I AM taking advantage of paintable's private Facebook group for critiques.  I'm trying to push myself to complete an illustration project for a series of images depicting the bosses from Dark Souls 3.  It's quite the undertaking, and I find myself struggling with it.  I hope to finish by the end of the year, but that will require me to push myself harder than I ever have.  You'll see some of them here, and I'm excited to see it through to completion.  I think posting process images here will keep up my momentum.

You'll see at least the completed illustrations here, so keep watching!
